In 2006, a 6-person chair lift was built up to the Index creating much better access to some great on and off-piste skiing. A 4-person chair lift, La Trappe, was also recently built and has increased the rate from 1000 people per hour to 2400 per hour.
There is a 100 vehicle car park right in front of the lift at Les Praz. It can fill quickly so, arrive early or use the free bus service. All buses from Chamonix going north, up the valley towards Grands Montets, Argentière and Le Tour stop at Les Praz for La Flégère.
Find here all the info for La Flégère and Le Brévent ski resorts combined:
There are 3 black pistes, 7 red pistes, 2 blue pistes, 2 green pistes.
A black run goes down from La Flégère to Les Praz, although this is patrolled, it is not pisted. This is probably not the most difficult of black runs but it is very long. La Flégère offers some good off piste skiing, for example: combes Lachenal, Glieres, Crochues, etc. This is also a great place to go on a powder day. Grands Montets will draw all the crowds and most runs will be tracked out before noon but if you head to Flegere you can enjoy the powder without the long queues all day.
